Crucial Indo-Bhutan meeting held at Bhairabkunda

UDALGURI, Jan 28:  A high-level Indo-Bhutan joint officer level meeting was held at Bhairabkunda.

 Tashi Penjor of the Cultural Affairs department, Home Ministry officials and the Director of Law and Order (Thimphu) were among the officials who attended the meeting while Om Prakash, the Commandant of 61 battalion SSB, took part in this meeting. The meeting decided to continue the friendly relation between the two countries, to resolve problems through regular bilateral meetings, and to hold co-ordition meeting at an interval of three months. The officials of the 61 battalion SSB welcomed their counterparts from Bhutan.

 To maintain peace and tranquility in the border areas, the meeting was a crucial one. Bipin Katara, the Deputy Commandant of the 61 battalion, said that this kind of coordition between the officials of the neighbouring country would be helpful to combat unlawful activities in the region.
