After entertaining viewers for around 3 decades, the cult show of Sony Television, CID will go off air from October 28 this year said the channel which ran this immensely popular show from 1997.

CID is one of the very first crime shows of the country. The plot of the episodes revolve around solving murder mysteries.

Over the years, CID has entertained viewers across age groups, but probably the 90’s generation holds the strongest attachment relationship with this show as they literally “grew” on it, and most of their fantasies around crime and thriller in the formative years revolved around this show itself.

However, the makers intend to return with a brand new season of CID. "The show will gear up for a renewed season with a lot more contextual cases keeping alive the thrill that the audience has experienced so far," the statement added.

Clearly, the Internet is just not happy with the announcement. Many viewers of this cult fiction show have taken to Twitter with tweets like “Don’t End CID” and “End of an Era”.
