Cultural-art institution inaugurated in North Lakhimpur for over-all upgradation of students

LAKHIMPUR: In view of upgrading the students physically, mentally, intellectually, spiritually and in the cultural arena, a cultural and art institution was inaugurated in North Lakhimpur on Saturday. This institution, which is christened as Amalprabha Sowanrani Akankshya Sanskritik Kala Kendra, was established at Sashi Phukan Path, Ward No. 8 in North Lakhimpur town.

The programme, held on this occasion, was inaugurated by Lakhimpur Post Graduate Training College Principal Rukma Gohain Baruah. He delivered an encouraging lecture, appealing to parents and guardians to ensure the cultural development of their children.

The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Boginadi Development Block accountant Chiranjit Kumar Dutta. Secretary of Lakhimpur Sangeet Mahabidyalaya, Bikas Gogoi graced the occasion as an appointed speaker, who highlighted the importance of music and culture in individual and social life. The institution will introduce courses on yoga, music and drama from June 1.
