Cultural fest in Manipur

IMPHAL, February 3: A three–day cultural festival showcasing the rich cultural tradition of the region will be held from Thursday at several places in Manipur. This is jointly organised by the Manipur government and the North East Zone Cultural Centre which is under the Union Ministry of Culture.

Altogether 140 artists from the NE states and Rajasthan shall participate in the festival. The festival will be held at Tadubi, Maram, Sepati, Kangpokpi and Imphal. Various soul stirring dances including the foot tapping ones like Irap dance of Aruchal Pradesh, Bordoishila of Assam, Khamba Thoibi of Manipur, Wangla of Meghalaya, Chero of Mizoram, Litho Shele of galand, Kung kung Go of Sikkim and Sungbai of Tripura will be presented during the concluding function.
