Cultural Festival To Begin In Guwahati City From Today

GUWAHATI: South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) of Ministry of Culture, Government of India is organizing Madhya Dakshini Festival 2019 in collaboration with North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) from April 25 to 28, 2019 in four venues of Guwahati.

In the festival, around 100 folk artists from Central India, states from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Andra Pradesh will perform vibrant and colourful folk dances showing rich cultural heritage of India. The folk artists from the states will perform Songi Mukhate Nritya, Bhagoriya, Fagwa, Gudum Baja Nritya, Gedi Nritya, Karma Dance and Daderi Nritya. At the same time, the 50 folk and classical artists of Assam will perform the rich and popular nritya like Bihu, Rbha Folkanti Nritya, Tiwa Lalilang Nritya and Jhumur Nritya in the festival. The inauguration of the festival will be organized at Shilpgram of NEZCC at Panjabari from 5.30 pm on Thursday.
