Cyber crime: Money looted from SBI customer

Tezpur, Nov 25: Hard-earned money of the common people is not safe from fraudulent practices and this was once again established in an inicdnt that took placeon Friday at Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur district when Rs 49,988 was withdrawn deceitfully by cyber crimils.  
 According to sources, Arup Bardhan, resdient of Ward No.5, Dhekiajuli, having an account in State Bank, Dhekiajuli branch, received a phone call on November 18 from one Rahul Sarma introducing himself as ATM Mager. He sought from the customer his accounts details and the ignorant account holder failed to imagine that it would be trap to plunder his money. After a while, Arup Bardhan had received an  SMS that an amount to the tune of Rs. 49,988 had been withdrawn from his account. 
The SMS came as a bolt from the blue and he rushed at the Mager of SBI, Dhekiajuli and told everything in detail but the bank mager, instead of blocking his account, asked him to lodge a complaint at the police station. Arup Bardhan has alleged that he has not received any suitable assistance from the bank authority or from police, sources said.
