Cyber patrol unit in State soon to Monitor ‘Offensive’ Posts on Social Media

Guwahati: In a bid to prevent miscreants from attempting to spread hate messages or rumours through social media, Assam government has decided to constitute a special unit for cyber patrolling in the state soon. The Assam cyber patrolling unit will be led by Additional Director General of Police (Security) Harmeet Singh. Police further cautioned that stringent actions will all be taken against the Whatsapp group admins for “offensive” posts.
