Dacoit with arms arrested in Nagaon

NAGAON: A wanted notorious dacoit along with arms and ammunition was arrested on Friday in a very dramatic way at Uriagaon bypass Chariali after he was rammed by a vehicle. According to sources, the dacoit has been identified as Jiabur Rahman of Rupahihat. Police later seized one point 22 pistol and four round live bullets from his possession.

The sources told here that he was on the way to Nagaon from Rupahihat through Uriagaon bypass. But when he reached bypass Chariali, an unidentified vehicle rammed on the back of his motorcycle. Meanwhile some of the local people rushed to the spot and when they tried to rescue him, the people recovered the arms and ammunition. Subsequently they informed about it to Nagaon Itachali police and also admitted him at Nagaon BP Civil Hospital. Police finally arrested him in the hospital and he was still undergoing treatment in the hospital till filing of this report.
