Dance performances leave audience spell bound

GAON, Jan  6: A function on dance performances was organized by the cultural institute Sutradhar in collaboration with the tiol Integrated Forum of Artist and Activist and Nehru Youth Centre at Khagen Mahanta Auditorium on Wednesday.

The artistes of Sutradhar performed various cultural shows in the function. The function was organized in memory of Xattriya artiste Bhuban Chandra Bora. The main attraction of the function was the fusion of Indian classical dance and western dance.

The function was iugurated by Lakhimai Bora by lighting the iugural lamp. A documentary throwing light on the life and works of Bhuban Chandra Bora was screened at the function. Well-known dancer Ilora Bora graced the occasion and praised the activities of Sutradhar. The important performances were dance on Hanuman Chalisa, dance drama on MIri Jiyari, Durga prayer by Madhusmita Paul, Blue water of Jamu, a performance on the love and resentment between Lord Krish and his gopis, dance programme on the relationship between Bhupen Hazarika and Priyamvada Patel, awareness dance performance on global warming, a dance performance to mark the necessity of education for all, and others.

All these performances left the audience spell bound. The director of Sutradhar, Gaurav Hazarika offered his gratitude to the audiences and performers for their cooperation.
