DC Adil Khan Directs for Strict Action To Reduce Accidents

Bongaigaon: In the wake of yesterday’s Gerukabari’s accident, an urgent meeting of DRSC was held at the conference hall of DC Bongaigaon. Expressing concern to such fatalities by accident, DC Adil khan directed DTO and police to suspend Driving licence of those plying vehicles on wrong side especially from Rakhaldubi to Manikpur. On the other hand, NHAI was directed to lodge FIR against those persons illegally opening median, stated a press release.

Moreover to create awareness against wrongside driving and illegal median opening, DTO, NHAI and DIPRO were instructed to conduct awareness meeting, mike announcement there. As a measure to achieve CoRS direction to reduce accident related fatalities by 10% than the previous year, all concerned DRSC members were detected to inspect frequently accident occurring spots to find out mitigation plan by way of analysis of reasons of each and every accident. Since non wearing of helmets often leads to increased fatality rate in case of 2 wheelers, the DRSC today emphasized on strict implementation of ‘no helmet, no fuel’ policy & directed the concerned dept to take legal action if any depots issue fuel to anyone without wearing helmet.

Moreover if any underaged is found to ply vehicle, police was directed to lodge FIR against the vehicle owner as per MV Act. Inspector of school was directed to ensure that no student without DL could bring vehicle with direction to inspect the same.
