DC details officers for smooth Bihu

GUWAHATI, April 10: Rongali Bihu leaves no one untouched – be they singers and dancers or sellers and buyers or organizers and onlookers or public and the administration.

With the Bohag Bihu barely three days away, the Kamrup (M) administration is on its toes. The onus of making the Bihu celebration incident-free in the city lies with them. With a number of Bihu melas being held in Guwahati in the run-up to the Rongali Bihu, traffic srl has already made its way into the city roads.

Talking to this reporter, Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal said: “ADC badeep Pathak, Guwahati Circle Officer Damodar Barman and Kamrup (M) Circle Officer Pallabjyoti th have been detailed for the central division of the metropolitan district. While Kamrup(M) ADC Gujeet Kashyap, Kamrup (M) SDO Chinmoy Prakash Phookan and Azara Circle Officer Mohorshii Kashyap have been detailed for west division; ADC Ranjit Konwar, Dispur Circle Officer Dhrubajyoti Hazarika and Chandrapur Circle Officer Pallabjyoti th have been detailed for east division. The three teams are to supervise safety measures to be adopted while erecting Bihu pandals, cleanliness to be observed at Bihu functions, provision of drinking water facilities, proper parking arrangements, electrical safety, fire safety, traffic magement, crowed-control measures etc., in their respective jurisdictions.”
