DC orders end to earth cutting at Sunsali

Guwahati, April 2: Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal has directed Shristi Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd not to execute earth cutting at Sunsali hill in the Noonmati area till the outcome of the enquiry instituted to probe into the alleged earth cutting and construction by the company at Dag No 1,3 and 4 of KP Patta No 1 of Ulubari Mouza under Guwahati Revenue Circle and till receipt of subsequent Government direction. 

It may be recalled that addressing the press a few days ago, Dispur MLA Atul Bora made a serious allegation that Shristi Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd had encroached upon a vast area of land at Sunsali and raised relevant questions as to who granted permission to the company to go ahead with earth cutting or as to why the forest department was silent over the issue. Bora also questioned the role of the Green Tribul in the matter. He gave a ultimatum to the government to initiate corrective measures and threatened that with public support he would go for eviction against Shristi Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd if the government were to fail to evict the encroaching company.  In the wake of the Dispur MLA’s threat, the Kamrup(M) DC  initiated the present action against Shristi Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd.
