DDC meeting for February held

GOLAGHAT (Dhekial), February 7: The District Development Committee meeting for the month of February was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office here on Monday.

Presiding over the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Gaurav Bothra reviewed the progress of all developmental schemes underway in the district under various government departments. The Deputy Commissioner exhorted all officials to ensure early completion of the schemes before the end of the current fincial year, laying special thrust on road connectivity and construction of Individual Household Latrines under the Swachch Bharat Mission.

Issues related to free textbook distribution to Class IX and Class X students, Anundoram Borooah Award, mid-day meals, KCC awareness camps, PMAY-G sanction and job-card verification were discussed in the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner insisted that restoration works of breaches along embankments/ dykes, should be completed before the onset of monsoon to ensure prevention of erosion. 

Officials of various development departments present in the meeting apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the targets achieved so far of the ongoing schemes. Additiol Deputy Commissioners AJ Barman, Orpah Baglari, Senior Planning Officer, Gautam Hazarika and heads of all departments were present at the meeting.
