Deadline to close down illegal liquor shops

SHILLONG, June 24: The Hynniewtrep Organization Youth Movement (HOYM) has given the state government a one month deadline to close down all shops selling illicit liquor at Nongpoh.

Observing that Nongpoh has become a den of illicit liquor, the organization has criticized the Excise department, the village heads and the District Administration for the unchecked sale of illicit liquor at Nongpoh, Down gate, Masjid and other parts of the area.
