Death anniversary of Sam Bahadur observed

SHILLONG, June 30: The 58 Gorkha Training Centre fondly remembered one of its finest luminary Field Marshal SHFJ Manekshaw, MC popularly known as ‘Sam Bahadur’ on his tenth death anniversary on June 27. A great military leader rated as ‘first amongst the equals’ was at the helms of affairs during the decisive military victory against Pakistan in 1971.

The Centre organised wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the death anniversary wherein Colonel MS Mahar, Deputy Commandant 58 Gorkha Training Centre and all ranks paid homage to the Field Marshal at Manekshaw Memorial, Happy Valley, Shillong, stated a press release on Saturday.
