Death of Police Official Near Ner Mieza Swahid Bhawan

GUWAHATI: A home guard Abed Ali, 32, of Polashbari police station met with a road accident on Thursday near Ner Mieza Swahid Bhawan, while he was making his way back to the city. Ali was hit from behind by a vehicle (AS 01 BW TUV) and was flung into the air and landed quite a few meters away. Sustaining severe head injuries, he was immediately rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his wounds on Friday. A shraddhanjali was performed at Polashbari police station as a grim environment pervaded the entire station.
