Demand to christen Bogibeel Bridge after Sati Sadhani

LAKHIMPUR, April 22: Queen Sadhani was commemorated in various parts of Lakhimpur district on Saturday during the 494th Sadhani Divas. The Dhakuakhona District Committee of Chutia Jati Sanmilani organized the event at Sadhani Bhavan campus starting the agenda with the unfurling of the flag of the organization by its president. It was followed by the traditional Deu Kuber Puja which was administered by Bidyut Chutia. Then a procession of 494 women of the community was organized covering the headquarter of the subdivision. A host of dignitaries of the Sanmilani took part in the public meeting which was convened on the occasion. The meeting appealed to the State government to christen the Bogibeel Bridge after Sati Sadhani.

On the other hand, the regional units under the North Lakhimpur District Chutia Jati Sanmilani observed the event at their respective regions in a befitting manner. Lakhimpur district body of Chutia Jati Satra Santha centrally organized its programme on the occasion at Hatilung near North Lakhimpur town. The programme was inaugurated by Brojen Saikia, the president of the North Lakhimpur District Chutia Jati Sanmilani.
