Demow ASTC bus stand in pathetic condition

DEMOW, June 8: The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) bus stand in Demow near NH-37 road is in a pathetic condition due to which the passengers have to suffer a lot. The authority concerned has not taken any steps till date and the passengers along with the general people face problems and many accidents have taken place in that area. Instead of parking only government buses and  Tata Magic vehicles in the ASTC bus stand, private vehicles are also kept in that bust stand which creates a lot of traffic problems. The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Sivasagar and the authority concerned of Assam State Transport Corporation had a discussion before where they decided that except government buses and Tata Magic vehicles under ATC would be kept in the bus stand and no permission would be given to park private vehicles. However, despite the notice, private vehicles continue to be parked in the bus stand, which has irked the local people and they have urged the authority concerned to take immediate action against this.
