Deputy Commissioner of Biswath reviews NRC work

Biswath Chariali, June 1: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Biswath reviewed the progress of updating the tiol Register of Citizens (NRC) in Biswath district on Monday.
In a meeting at the conference hall of the office of the DC at Biswath Chariali, DC Pallav Gopal Jha, reviewed the updation works going on in all the three revenue circles in the district- Biswath, Gohpur and Helem with the CO-cum-CRCRs of these circles. The meeting also was attended by the CPSs and Data Entry in-charge of the respective revenue circles.
During the review, NSKs and areas with slow progress and lazy LRCRs, ACRCRs were identified. DC Jha issued stern warning to those officials whose involvement in the updation process was not up to the mark. He cautioned them with strict action if they did not amend their working style.
He also ordered all the departments concerned in the district to strictly follow the timeline in Office Verification of NRC related documents. On the other hand, DC Biswath decided to brief regularly the general public about the progress of the NRC updation works in the district. In this regard, he called two separate subdivision level public meeting on June 6 at the conference hall of the office of the DC at Biswath Chariali as well as at the office of the SDO (C) Gohpur. Senior citizens, student organizations and NGOs have been invited to the meetings by the administration.
