Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) Biswajeet Pegu Interaction With Media

GUWAHATI: Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kamrup (Metro) Biswajeet Pegu interacting with the media on Thursday stated that according to the order passed by the Chief Minister, patta land will be provided to the landless indigenous people of the city. “Almost 22 thousand people have applied for land aid. Around 500 has already been approved while verification is pending for the rest”, said Biswajeet Pegu.

On the other hand, the DC has expressed his concern over the traffic and parking problems in the city. “The cars are increasing on an everyday basis but the conditions of roads have not. Planning and proper co-ordination is required for the smooth operation of traffic”, he said.

Upon media enquiry regarding DC and Circle Office anomalies, the DC asserted that he will probe into the matter. “Kamrup (M) is a big city and I will need all the co-operation that I can get for the smooth functioning of the city”, Biswajeet Pegu commented.

An IAS of the 2009 batch, Biswajeet Pegu expressed his believe in the Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan and asserted, “Both the mind and soul needs to be clean to have a clean city.”
