Devastating fire in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh, Feb 14: In a devastating fire that broke out at 3 pm on Tuesday near Overbridge, more than 25 business establishments and residential buildings were burnt to ashes. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained till the filing of this report. According to local people, property worth more than Rs 2 crore was destroyed. However, there was no report of any causality. The fire tenders of the Government of Assam, BCPL and Moran rushed to the site of fire and after three hours of battle, were able to bring the fire under control. The Deputy Commissioner, Loya Madduri and Superintendent of Police, Gautam Bora, Additioanl Deputy Commissioner, Ankur Bharali and other senior officials of civil and police administration rushed to the site of fire and persolly supervised the situation. The fire caused severe traffic congestion in Overbridge, Tha Chariali and RKB Road. However, traffic police maged the situation aptly.
