Devraj Sapkota to receive Madhavdev Award for 2019

UDALGURI: The Barpeta Sundaridiya Xatra will confer the Madhavdev Award for 2019 to Devraj Sapkota of Udalguri. Devraj Sapkota has contributed a lot to publicize the Ekasarana Vaishnava Naam Dharma by translating the Kirtan Ghoxa, Namghosha, Gunamala and Bhakti Pradeep into Nepali language. Moreover, he learned the skill of Borgeet chanting in Nepali.

The Barpeta Madhavdev birth anniversary celebration committee informed that the award would be conferred at a function to be held on May 20. Devraj Sapkota was born at 3 No. Lissingaon village in the district of Udalguri in 1956. He is currently the president of Udalguri district Sahitya Sabha. He retired as the headmaster of Golmagaon M E School in 2016 and is associated with social work.
