Dibrugarh move to semis

GUWAHATI, May 8: Dibrugarh moved into the semi fils of the Nuruddin Inter District Cricket tourment defeating Goalpara by virtue of the first innings lead at the Barsapara Cricket stadium here today. The highlight of the quarter fils was a brilliant spell from Dipak Gohain who picked up seven wickets giving away just 24 runs.

In reply to Dibrugarh’s first innings total 168, Goalpara today bowled out 103 runs in their first innings. Except Ramiz Rabbani (73 no, 74 B, 4x9, 6x2), who carried his bat throughout the innings, not a single batsman were able to stand too long on the wicket. Dibrugarh were 172/7 in their second innings when the match came to an end. Jyotiraditya Chetia (70, 156 B, 4x5, 6x1) scored half century before he got out. The last quarter fils will be held between Silchar and NFRSA from tomorrow. Brief score: Dibrugarh 1st innings: 168 (65.2 Overs), Goalpara 1st Innings 103 (29.4 Overs), Ramiz Rabbani 73 (no), Deepak Gohain 7/24, Mukhter Hussain 2/21. Dibrugarh 2nd innings 172/7 (55 Overs).
