Dibrugarh police summon 19 more in APSC Cash-for-Job scam

GUWAHATI, July 15: Dibrugarh police has issued summons to 19 more officials in the cash-for-job APSC scam. The officials have been directed to report at the Special Branch headquarters at Kahilipara on July 18 for collection of their signature samples.

Police sources informed that the signature samples would be sent to the forensic laboratories for their examination. The officials appeared in the APSC examination in 2014 and were recruited in 2016. Among these officials also figure the name of the daughter of Ram Prasad Sarma (Member of Parliament).

Among them are 13 ACS officials, three APS officials, besides a DTO, a superintendent of taxes and an inspector of taxes.

The summoned ACS officials are: Utpal Bhuyan, Barnali Das, Susovan Das, Dhruvojyoti Chakraborty, Manzoor Ilahi Laskar, Moon Mazoomdar, Mustafa Ahmed Borbhuyan, Md Saibur Rahman Borbhuyan, Monika Teronpi, Ganesh Chandra Das, Srabanti Sen Gupta, Deepsikha Phukan and Leena Krishna Kakati.

The APS officers (junior cadre) are: Gulshan Daolagpu, Pallavi Sharma and Bhargav Phukan.

The other three summoned officials are: Suranjita Hazarika (DTO); Rhituraj Neog (Superintendent of Taxes); and Nipon Kumar Pathak (Inspector of Taxes).
