Dima Hasao people threaten indefinite road blockade

Haflong, April 16: Demanding immediate repair of Khejunrband-Koladisa road (KK Road), introduction of ASTC service, mobile service etc, the citizens of Langting Dibu area comprising at least 150 villages decided to organise dharna and indefinite road blockade from April 30. They have been suffering a lot due to lack of proper communication like road, transport service, mobile service etc. for a long time even after approaching several concerned authorities. 

Meanwhile, other NGOs and social activities have extended their support to the people’s demand and assured them to organise such types of agitation for the betterment of the society and for the district. Talking to this correspondent, Bahim Chandra Langthasa, founder President of Jadikhe Naisho Hosom (JNH) of the Dimasa Apex Body said that the people of this Langting Dibu area of Dima Hasao are the most sufferers for the dilapidated condition of the road followed by no private or public transport service in this area, which has deterred the development of entire area as well as the development of the society. Being compelled by the situation, the people of this area have decided to go for agitation from April 30.
