Directorate of Technical Education to go Independent in Tripura

Guwahati: The Directorate of Technical Education in Tripura will no longer work under the higher education department and the same has been announced lately by the Tripura government on Sunday.

Education Minister of the state Ratan Lal Nath says, “A separate technical education directorate will help us focus on and develop technical education opportunities in the state. Besides contributing to the social and economic development of the state, it will lead to better management of human resources, enhance industrial productivity and improve the quality of life of the people.”

This is indeed a good news for the students of the state as the state government is not only expanding the canvass of placement for the technically educated youths, now with the separation of the technical education directorate, it will work more independently and at a large scale.

The minister further adds there is a detailed plan in the hands of the government for delivering technical education to the students and ensure more technically educated youths in the state. Speaking in this context, the minister stated, “The country has a dearth of trained technical personnel, which we need to help address. We have not much scope of employment due to lack of industries but the state can provide a platform for better education and training for skill development. It is fact, still, the country has a dearth of trained technical manpower, which we need to explore.”
