District & Session Judge court awards death penalty to Lumding Rape-Murder convict

Lumding: Following the brutal murder incident of a seven-year-old girl on February 5, 2017 in Lumding, the accused identified as Krishna Rajgarh (27) alias Sagar has been sentenced to death by the Hojai District Additional and Session Judge court on Friday.

Accused Krishna was convicted on both rape and murder charges.

As per earlier reports, accused Krishna was found guilty in raping and murdering a seven-year-old minor girl and later murdered her by pressing her throat.

The incident was reported from Railnagari area in Lumding under Hojai district where the accused was working as a servant at the house of the victim girl. It is to be noted that the girl was raped and then murdered by accused Krishna.

What is more shocking into the incident is that the accused then stuffed her body into a gunny bag and threw it into a jungle area.

Later, a case has been registered after an operation led by the police. He was apprehended on February 11, 2017, for (case vide no. 23/2017 under section 363/302/201 of the Indian Penal Code).
