District Task Force meeting for Measles Rubella Campaign held in Shillong

Shillong: The meeting of the District Task Force on Immunization for Measles Rubella Campaign, West Khasi Hills was held on August 3 at the Conference Hall, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills, Nongstoin.

The meeting presided over by KL Nongbri, I/c Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills was attended by Dr WW Phira, District Medical and Health Officer, West Khasi Hills, District Programme Officer, ICDS, West Khasi Hills, District School Education Officer and the Sub-Divisional School Education Officer, representatives from the offices of the District Public Relation Officer, the District Planning Officer and Block Development Officer and health officials, a press release stated.

Addressing the meeting, Nongbri said that the goal of the Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign is to eliminate Measles and control Rubella. This vaccination campaign will include all children from 9 months to below 15 years of age. Considering the importance of the campaign, he instructed all the departments implementing the programme to take appropriate and effective steps in ensuring maximum coverage of all target beneficiaries. He also urged all the departments involved in the vaccination campaign to extend their support and take the initiative in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities in achieving the goal and objectives of the vaccination campaign.

Dr WW Phira reiterated that for the success of the programme all stakeholders will be sensitized on the vaccination campaign and all pre-campaign activities will be carried out within the stipulated time and in an efficient manner, the release added.
