'Doctors ought to be dedicated in service of humanity'

Shillong, March 21: Justice Giridhar Malaviya delivered a scintillating and thought provoking oration on medical ethics and responsibilities of young professiols at the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regiol Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGHRIMS) Shillong on Saturday. Touching on the theme “Medical Ethics and Responsibilities of Young Medical Professiols” in the institute’s auditorium, Justice Malaviya emphasized on the need for dedication of doctors in the service of humanity. While pointing out at various maladies in practice of medicine in contemporary times, he exhorted young professiols to maintain the true traditions of medical practice as it has been practiced in ancient times. Principal Secretary Ram Mohan Mishra stressed upon the need for more open views on various traditiol practices of medicine and a fresh outlook on the need for fusion of traditiol and modern medicine.
