Doctors save life of  man bitten by viper

DEMOW, June 7: Nabajyoti Borgohain (30) was bitten by a poisonous viper few days ago. After 24 hours, his limb which was bitten swelled up and the doctors saw no blood clot within 20 minutes.

A total of 55 Anti-Snake Venom (ASV) injections were injected over eight days till blood clot was seen within 20 minutes, said a health official. Nabajyoti had a severe allergic reaction amounting to near death situation after initial injections of Anti-Snake Venom (ASV). He is now safe. “We as medical team are thankful to the patient and family members who had patience and faith on medical science,” said Dr Surajit Giri, Anaesthesia and ICU specialist of Sivasagar.
