Don’t use un-parliamentary words: Nongseij to members

FROM A REPORTER
SHILLONG, Feb 22: The Chairman KHADC LG Nongseij at the start of the Budget session on Wednesday requested the member of the house not to use un-parliamentary words and disgrace the District Council. Sohrykham MDC  Pyniaid Sing Syiem also stood up before the start of the session and stated that everything had be flashed in the local channel by the Media and use of raw and un-parliamentary words had bring about great shame to the Council and he urged the house not to continue with this kind of attitude. It may be noted that on Tuesday that is the second day of the session, the house witnessed a pandemonium between Syiem and Shylla and exchanged heated argument including banging of their tables and expression of unruly gesture while discussing on the alleged embezzlement of fund worth Rs 36 crore given by the Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) to the KHADC for the construction of a 20km road from Wahkaji to Mawthabah, an area close to the uranium site. The bedlam went out of the control of the KHADC chairman (Nongsiej), who failed to tame some emotiolly-charged members like Adelbert Nongrum and others who banged the tables and maged to speak more than once on the issue.
