Dorbar hall at Nongkhyriem inaugurated

SHILLONG, May 13: Local MDC of Nongthymmai Latiplang Kharkongor recently inaugurated the Dorbar Hall of Nongkhyriem, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh from the Special Assistance Scheme funded by the Central government.

Kharkongor, while delivering his speech at the inauguration function, said an additional Rs 10 lakh has been sanctioned for further upgrade of the Dorbar Hall and Rs 5 lakh will be allotted for work order to start the work immediately.

The MDC also lauded the efficiency of the Dorbar Shnong on its style of functioning especially when it comes to providing the yearly financial expenditure of the Dorbar.

He further urged the residents of the locality to cooperate and work together with the Dorbar for the overall betterment of the community and society. Kharkongor also said that as an MDC of Nongthymmai constituency he would continue to support the various Dorbars.

The inauguration was also attended by headman of the locality B Khyriem, Secretary, members of the Dorbar and also residents of the locality. The MDC also donated a computer and a printer for the smooth functioning of the new office of the Dorbar.
