Drive to realize Bakijai dues

Hailakandi, Feb 4: Deputy Commissioner Moloy Bora has asked the certificate officers to make a sustained drive to realize the outstanding Bakijai dues. In a directive to all certificate officers, Deputy Commissioner Bora said all out efforts had to be made for recovery of outstanding Bakijai dues amounting to Rs 11,63,20,347.55 against a total 34534 pending cases. A minimum Rs 5 lakh has been fixed as target for realization of revenue. A certificate of honour will be given to the best performer, stated a press release. Meanwhile, the district administration has drawn up a comprehensive action plan for gearing up of Bakijai collection. It has given clear-cut directions to certificate officers to hold camps and Circle Officers to furnish FIRs to CDs for speedy recovery of revenue. It has directed the OCs to ensure no outbreak of violence during the recovery drive.
