Drug Peddler arrested in Sarupathar

Sarupathar: Based on a tip-off, under the supervision of officer-in-charge Achuyut Dutta and his team of Sarupathar Police in Dhansiri Subdivision on Sunday night arrested one drug peddler and recovered five small containers carrying brown sugar valuing approximately Rs 10,000 from his possession.

Speaking to the media, the drug peddler identified as Pranab Barail said that he used to manage these brown sugar containers from an unidentified person from Dimapur in Nagaland.

It may be mentioned that several people including some students of Sarupathar used to consume these brown sugar from the arrested person.

Meanwhile, the arrested person is a resident of Sarupathar in Golaghat district.

A case has been registered at Sarupathar police station in Dhansiri Subdivision Case No. 72/19 under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) under Act, 1985.
