Drunk GMCH Doctor Sent to 14 days Judicial Custody Over Manhandling ICU Patients

Guwahati: On Tuesday, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Anesthesiologist Dr. Arjun Khaklari was sent to 14 days judicial custody for allegedly misbehaving with a patient under the influence of alcohol on duty hours inside the hospital.

The doctor identified as Arjun Khaklari, an anesthesiologist at GMCH was an on-duty doctor at the general intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital had allegedly manhandled and misbehaved with an ICU patient.

Earlier, on Monday, an FIR was lodged at Bhangagarh PS by the family members of the patient stating that the GMCH doctor was in inebriated condition.

Speaking to The Sentinel, Bhangagarh PS OC Bipin Medhi said, “We have detained the GMCH doctor based on an FIR by the family members of the patient. As per the FIR, the doctor had manhandled and misbehaved with the ICU patient today.”
