‘Eat Right India’ pledge administered in Itanagar

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Health and Family Welfare Commissioner AC Verma, who is also the commissioner food safety on Thursday administered the pledge “Eat Right India” and flagged off the Prabhat Pheri from Tennis Court, at Indira Gandhi Park, here. “Eating Right will keep the mind and the body healthy,” Verma said while addressing the school children, NCC cadets and others who came to participate in the march, an official communiqué informed. “India is becoming the hub of many lifestyle diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases. They are increasing day by day and they are in turn leading to many other diseases by affecting other organs. Many of the disease are caused by wrong eating wrong habit,” Verma said.

He said, Arunachal basically is a place of clean environment and the tribal foods are nutritious and healthy, but with the advent of fast food which are tasty but not healthy, had given rise to various diseases.
