MUGHALS

Where Taste Meets Tradition

For Mughal food lovers, the options have always been limited for food lovers of the city. Food lovers have always longed for authentic Mughlai food which is served in a hygienic and well decorated ambience. In this context, one restaurant which has become immensely popular in the city and which was set up to fill this gap is 'Mughals - Taste Meets Tradition'. Located in Wireless area of Beltola in the city, Mughals serves authentic Mughlai cuisine in a hygienic and pleasant environment.

The place is specially known for its range of Biryani items, especially Lucknow Dum Biryani. For those who love Biryani, they can add another to-go place in their list! Guwahatians are quite choosy about their Biryanis and the people of the city do prefer a good plate of Biryani over other things. So Mughals definitely scores a point in this aspect as their Biryanis are indeed delicious!

One of the best things about the place is that it has also started a home delivery system which has found to have quite a few takers. So next time you were wondering where to have authentic Mughlai food or quench your craving for biryani, you should know that Mughals is just a call away. The restaurant has a page on Facebook from where one can order their food.

The restaurant has a specious interior. The place has a good infrastructure and the management has done a good job by ensuring good hygienic condition. One is welcomed to the restaurant in a very humble manner by the staff and it really makes one feel wanted. Overall, the place has a very calm and warm ambience.

The staff is very well trained and polite. They are constantly waiting to serve your needs and ensure you a pleasant dining experience.

Coming to the menu, the restaurant has a wide range of Mughlai food. The menu is filled with exotic mughlai dishes from biriyani to naans, with various mutton and chicken side dishes. The prices too are reasonable and do not create a hole in your pocket.

A customer to the restaurant Suman Paul opines, "On my visit I went for Lucknow Dum Biriyani, Bhuna Gosht, Butter naan and finished it all with a Firni. The Biriyani was nicely cooked, lovely aroma and flavour, but a dash dry for my mouth. But overall, it was one of the best biriyanis in Guwahati as far as flavour is concerned. Bhuna Gosht, a dry gravy mutton dish, is best to try with naans. This was one of the finest mutton dishes I have tried in any restaurant. The Firni was average and could have been better.

Another visitor Sumit Das recounted, "A visit to this seldom dissapoints. The biryanis, the naans, Navratan kormas, kadhai chicken, the kebabs. Everything makes your tastebuds go on a celebratory mode. The only dish which dissatisfied me was their Mutton Rogan Josh which was just bones and curry thrown in both the times I ordered it. This should be looked into.

Otherwise a great place to feast on mughlai fare."

What makes Mughal's a good place to eat out is the quantity of the food served here. Many people often complain that restaurants are serving less amount of food every day. But this is one area where one is left with no chance to complain. The servings are generous are pretty filling compared to a few other restaurants of the city.

The place also has provisions for hosting parties and get-togethers. A patron Vijay Gaurav recollects, "I held my daughter's birthday party at Mughal's. There were 12 of us. They set up a lovely table for us in the restaurant. The food and service were very nice. We were not at all rushed - this is a great place to have a small party such as ours".

Most importantly, Mughals fills in the need for a proper Indian restaurant in the Beltola area. For a long time, the area lacked a proper place where one could dine out with their family and friends without being bothered about the quality of the food or the hygiene of the place. So if you are in Beltola and want to try some Mughlai food, do try Mughals!
