Efforts on to make Jo-1 a model village

ITAGAR, Feb 15: Lok Sabha MP from Aruchal East constituency Ninong Ering has adopted Jo-1 village in Lathao circle of msai district to make it a model village under the Centre’s Sansad Adarsh Gram Yoja.

Addressing a gathering attended by district heads of various government departments, panchayat leaders, gaon burras, NGOs and people of the village on Saturday, Ering urged them to devote their time and efforts for the holistic development of the village, an official release said here today.

He requested all stakeholders to take steps as envisaged in the guidelines of the scheme for substantial improvement of the standard of living and quality of life of villagers by providing them improved basic amenities, higher productivity, enhanced human development, better livelihood and reduced disparities, access to rights and entitlement and wider social mobilization.

He also insisted on converting Jo-1 to a real model village which could be replicated by all other villages in of the area. He also vowed to improve the literacy rate of the village.

msai deputy commissioner RK Sharma gave a brief rration of the aims and objectives of the scheme and directed all concerned departments to conduct survey of the village to formulate a master plan for convergence of all government sponsored schemes and mobilize local NGOs and people. He emphasised on preparation of a realistic and perfect village development plan involving all stakeholders, the release added.
