Election Expenditure Observer Swami Shanteshwar arrives at Biswanath for 9-Tezpur HPC

Biswanath Chariali: For conducting a free and fare Lok Sabha election on April 11 in Biswanath district, the Election Commission of India has appointed Swami Shanteshwar, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, as Election Expenditure Observer for 9-Tezpur HPC.

The expenditure observer arrived at Biswanath Chariali and held a meeting with the representatives of all leading banks here at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and asked them to keep a watch on all accounts and transactions and also to report any suspicious activities in order to ensure a free and fair election.

He also instructed the concerned officials to keep a strict vigil on the use of excess number of vehicles by the candidates and to create awareness among common people on the imposed restrictions of carrying money worth not more than rupees 500 with them during the poll process. The meeting was attended by District Electoral Officer Pabitra Ram Khaound, expenditure-cell in-charge Diganta Baishya and other high-level officials.
