Emergency magement exercise in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA, Jan19: Emergency Magement Exercise (EMEx) in Tinsukia District was iugurated on January 18 at District Library here by Tinsukia DC Puru Gupta. The programme was attended by gathering of five hundred people besides officials of District Administrations, NDRF, SDRF and other resource person. The exercise is being conducted by District Disaster Magement Authority, Tinsukia in collaboration with Assam State Disaster Magement Authority (ASDMA). The EMEx is a capacity building exercise spreading over five days (18th -22nd January 2016) is intended to test the response mechanism in the town of Tinsukia. The exercise is designed to harness the strength and capabilities of different departments/ institutions/ organizations that are responsible for carrying out the emergency response in an event of any tural or manmade disaster. This is a rigorous event with eight parallel tracks undergoing at different venues in Tinsukia during the first three days of the event attended by five hundred participants in total various line departments. The fourth day would be a table top exercise at Tinsukia Commerce College on January 21 followed by a field drill at various locations on January 22 and a debriefing session called ‘hotwash’ will be conducted on the same day.
