Emergency Magement Exercise

BARPETA, February 23: After the success of Emergency Magement Exercises in Guwahati, Jorhat, Silchar, Dibrugarh and gaon, Assam is geared up to conduct the Barpeta Emergency Magement Exercise (Barpeta EMEx 2015) from 23rd February 2015 culmiting into a Mock Drill on 27th February 2015. Barpeta EMEx 2015 is organised by the District Disaster Magement Authority, Barpeta in association with Assam State Disaster Magement Authority. Barpeta EMEx 2015 is a week-long preparedness exercise which is designed to harness the strengths and capabilities of the State emergency responders, educatiol institutions, hospitals, humanitarian agencies etc as they prepare to meet the urban catastrophes of Barpeta.

Minister Revenue and Disaster Magement, Dr. Bhumidhar Barman, iugurated the Exercise at the colourful iugural ceremony held on 23rd February 2015 at District Library Auditorium, Barpeta. Dr. Muzaffar Ahmmad, Former Member, NDMA was present to grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour. This was stated in a press release.
