EQ-The Election Quotient Quiz To Generate Electoral Awareness

GUWAHATI: ‘EQ-The Election Quotient’, the state level quiz competition, which was organised by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, successfully concluded at Dr Bhupen Hazarika Auditorium, IIT Guwahati, on March 24, with a participation of 107 teams from different districts of the state.

The district level quizzes were organised by the election districts last week from which the two best teams were selected to represent the election district at the state level quiz. Teams from Dhemaji, Tinsukia, Karimganj, Karbi Anglong, Udalguri, North Salmara, South Salmara, Charaideu, Lakhimpur, Dima Hasao, Dhubri, Biswanath participated among others. On-the-spot registration and online registration were done to encourage maximum number of young voters to participate in the event.

According to a press release, this initiative was taken up by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer to spread the awareness about electoral participation and ethical voting among the young voters. Teams from Assam Engineering College, Tezpur University, Dhemaji College, University Law College, Gauhati University, Gauhati Medical College, Cotton University, National Law University and IIT Guwahati competed for the top-positions in the final stages.
