Eri Kota Mel-2018 in Boko

Boko: The Eri Kota Mel will be organized by RASOMGRAM, Eri Buwa Kota Samnaya Samiti and Eri Fed at Boko on December 15 and December 16 to address the issue of duplicity of Eri silk and create awareness about purity of silk. After the success of Eri Kota Mel in 2015, Eri Fed successfully started a new marketing brand of Eri silk named ‘Eriya’.

Moreover, Eri Fed clinched the biggest hand-spun yarn order at Textile India in 2017 at Gandhinagar (Gujarat) amounting to 250 quintals. This time, some burning issues will be raised in Eri Kota Mel-2018. The government has totally failed to generate employment for educated youths and rural people.

Though the market demand of Eri silk had increased many times in the last three years, it is not sufficient to get full-time employment in this industry because Eri silk has only seasonal market, only in the winter season and nowadays winter lasts hardly for two months.
