Ex-Servicemen’s Rally Held at Narangi Military Station

GUWAHATI: An Ex-servicemen rally was held at Narangi Military Station on Sunday under the aegis of 51 Sub Area. A Total of about 1,000 ex-servicemen, war veterans, veer naris and their dependents from Kamrup (Metro) & Kamrup attended the rally that was graced by Dr (Mrs) Justice Indira Shah(Judicial)-cum-Head of Armed Forces Tribunal, Regional Bench, Guwahati, a press release said. The officiating GOC of 51 Sub Area Brigadier Yoginder Singh addressed the gathering where he informed the various schemes for the welfare of ex-servicemen. Brigadier (Retd) ND Joshi SM, Director of Assam Rajya Sainik Board also apprised the various welfare schemes and measures undertaken by the Assam Government. He also said that all ex-servicemen should register themselves with the Sainik Board and visit the state office for redressal of any grievances. The disable soldiers were provided with modified scooters, wheelchairs, prosthetic and hearing aids at the rally. A large number of stalls including medical camps, army placement nodes, army recruitment cells and canteen facilities were provided to the veterans and Veer Naris, the release said.
