Excise branch of Udalguri district prohibits sale of liquor from April 9 to April 11

TANGLA: The excise branch of Udalguri district administration has prohibited the sale of liquor from April 9 to April 11 and also on the day of counting of votes on May 23 in the district border with Sonitpur district and Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections in the district. The order was issued under Rule 326(a) of Assam Excise Rules 2016 and under Section 135 c. The order further warned that anyone violating the order would be strictly dealt with under appropriate provisions of Assam Excise Act and Rules.
