Excise raids continue against illicit liquor in Shillong

Shillong, July 30: The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has informed that the Excise staff of East Khasi Hills district, Shillong is actively continuing its drive against illicit liquor.

Raids are being conducted in restaurants/stalls in the town and its outskirts. During the month of May 2018, the Excise staff detected 22 cases with a seizure of 84.950 litres of local liquor and 242.820 litres IMFL seized. In this connection 17 persons have been arrested under Excise Act. The cases are under investigation/prosecution.
