Excise slab on IMFL increased

Shillong, January 6: The Meghalaya Cabinet on Tuesday approved the proposal to revise the Excise slab on the Indian Manufactured Foreign Liquor (IMFL). “This increase will help in earn an additiol revenue of Rs 21.84 crore,” Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma told reporters after the caninet meeting today. While divulging the details about the rate of the different brands of IMFL after the revised slab, Dr Sangma said that the cost price of the general brand has been increase from Rs 551 and to Rs 663 per case. According to Sangma, the cost price of deluxe brand has been increase from Rs 556 to Rs 675. He also informed that the cost price of premium brand has been increase from Rs 900 to Rs 1138. Further the cost price super premium brand has been increase from Rs 1,282 to Rs 1,539 per case.
