Fake currency notes recovered, two arrested from Boko in Kampur

Boko: A team of Assam Police personnel recovered Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) with the face value of Rs 53,800 from Boko in Kamrup district on Monday and arrested two persons in this connection. According to officer in-charge of Boko Police Station, Jogendra Barman, the police team recovered 88 notes of Rs 500 denomination, 34 of Rs 200 denomination and 30 notes of Rs 100 denomination from a person identified as Nabinur Hussain. He was nabbed by the police based on specific inputs from the Boko market.

During his interrogation, he revealed that he was being helped by another youth named Sithjal Haque. Based on the confession of Nabinur, OC Jogendra Barman launched an operation and arrested Sithjal from Krishnai in Goalpara district. The police suspected that the two youths are connected with a big group operating a massive counterfeit currency racket in the region.
