Farewell given to Haj pilgrims of Goalpara

Goalpara, August 4: The Aanjuman-e-Khademul Islam Goalpara, in collaboration with district administration, arranged a special meeting on Thursday to bid farewell to the Haj pilgrims for the year 2016.

The meeting was arranged at Haj Bhavan, Idgah field of the town where district development commissioner Farokh Alom presided over.  Altogether 186 pilgrimages of the district were given farewell in a thickly-attended meeting, out of whom 55 were female participants. Several speakers including chief guest AK Rasid Alom, local MLA, educationist Abedur Rahman Saikia and development authority chairman Dipak Kr. th spoke on the occasion and wished them a successful Haj pilgrimage.

Among others, Alhaj Talebur Rahman Mollah, president Aanjuman-e-Khademul Islam, also spoke in the programme and based his lecture upon different Islamic norms and the benefits of performing Haj. A team of 60 pilgrims set out for Guwahati Haji Mushafir Kha after the programme from where they will board the flight for Mecca and Madi.
