By Our Staff Reporter

Guwahati, June 23: Two files, which could be crucial in unearthing the bogus ration card scam in the State, have gone missing in Dispur. One file has disappeared from the State secretariat while the other has gone missing from the Food & Civil Supplies department.

This came to light after a government-appointed inquiry panel headed by Justice (retd) PG Agarwal sought the two files in course of its investigation. The government expressed its ibility to produce the files and claimed they were "missing." Food & Civil Supplies minister Rihon Daimary has ordered a probe into the disappearance of the files. The inquiry will be conducted by the Food & Civil Supplies commissioner. Earlier, sources had said that the Agarwal committee had detected over 3 lakh bogus ration cards in the State. The committee is expected to submit its fil report next month.
